Researcher may have a good idea of how to protect ideas; original ideas are easy to protect by law and researchers were hired for their creativity in their specialized field. In this video, a copyright librarian discussing how to protect research data. Copyright laws do not protect discovery of data, including research data and factual concepts. There are other ways to protect data based on how data is presented and shared. Ask your librarian to offer options on how to present research data for the most lawful protection.
